Splunk have released their core product ‘Splunk Enterprise’ on Microsoft Azure. This is an interesting step and will provide the option of using Splunk on your own [cloud based] environment without having to send you data onprem or into Splunk Cloud for analysis.
What is awesome to see is that out of the ‘box’ it is set to provide high availability (HA) using a 3-peer configuration.
It’ll be interesting to see if they move into other cloud providers and how this impacts Splunk Cloud, which is a great offering for a managed cloud based service.
